Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Marianne Williamson
I know these words to be true, and yet I struggle at times to allow my light to shine. I hope while I’m on this journey I can support those around me, as well as myself, to step out, unleash your greatest expression! The world goes without when we don’t share our gifts. We all have a contribution to make!
“The world goes without when we don’t share our gifts.” That strikes me as so very true. I am not sure Williamson has it right that our greatest fear is “we are powerful beyond measure”. But I am sure you have it right that “the world goes without when we don’t share out gifts.”
Curiously, that is true even of the billions of us humans who will never become widely known.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I believe peoples gifts come in all forms. To be widely known is a desire of the ego, to give ones gift is selfless and needs no acknowledgement.

We are all children of a Heavenly Father . We have divinity within each of us by virtue of that heritage. We are also born with the light of Christ. It is up to each of us to embrace Him who is the Father of lights. The more we embrace, learn of, follow and obey the teachings of Jesus Christ, the brighter that light will shine in us.
